My sincere apologies for taking so long to update this…I honestly don’t know where the last few weeks have gone!! I always knew Term 4 would be a busy one and it certainly hasn’t disappointed so far!!
Lots of exciting things have happened already. Our athletics day was a great success. Thank you to all who were able to come and support the children on the day, and to those who helped out also. Well done to our 8 year olds who trained with the senior school. A big congratulations to Darby and Lucy who made it to zones on Thursday. They both did really well in representing our school and we are really proud of them!
Congratulations to Jessica also, who got a certificate at the Pasifika prize-giving night in Villa Maria. Jessica took part in Samoan classes every Friday and was rewarded for her hard work on the night. Well done Jessica!
We had the lovely Harold to visit in week 2! Everybody really enjoyed catching up with Harold and learning all about eating a healthy, balanced diet in our Life Ed lessons. We are continuing with this topic of health for our inquiry for the term. Our art lessons will be incorporated into this also, as well as our Te Reo.
We begin daily swimming lessons on Monday, November 9th. These will last for 2 weeks. We will have a water safety lesson on the first Wednesday. Thank you all for returning the permission slips so promptly, and for those parents able to help.
While continuing to work on our Add/Sub & Mult/Div and fractions in Maths, we will also be looking at time, temperature and area later in the term for the mathematics strand.
We have started to look at the Communion of Saints for Religious Education. We are focussing on sadness and dealing with sad times in our lives.. We will then move into Advent and Christmas.
For writing this term we will be learning how to write explanations.
As always, if you have any questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to email me at email@example.com .
Now I promise not to take as long to update the blog in the future so be sure to check back to see what we are getting up to!
